I visited Puerto Rico in 2025. My friend Yuxin and I went on a road trip driving through small towns across the island. I was shocked by the amount of abandoned buildings and infrastructure along the road. It seemed like Puerto Rico hit a pause during its development all of a sudden, and has been abandoned by its people. Especially when we stopped at the town of Ponce. It felt like a ghost town, starting to rot and to be forgotten. It was a unique feeling I had never experienced before, and it deeply saddened me. I decided to document everything.
